With the ratio of votes between five star and one star being what it was, I was curious as to why this story was so poorly received, so I decided to read it.

I really do understand why now.

First Yu Nan is a massive assh*le. He is just interested in Bai Yuye physically, manipulating him to send pictures and videos of himself while rarely doing the same in return. On top of that it's clear that BYY is deeply in love from the start and YN uses that to both get more physically and as gossip with his friends about his behavior. So the MC is already unlikable in my opinion.

You'd think with YN's behavior I'd be able to sympathize with the ML, BYY, but nope.

BYY is terrifyingly clingy. He gets a tattoo just over two months into their relationship. He's willing to sacrifice even his basic dignity for YN, no matter the possible consequences. He's a co-dependency red flag to extremes and cries over the smallest problem. It doesn't help that YN is constantly threatening to break up with him, which makes his behavior worse.

The two leads aren't likable, and their romance is cringey at best, and toxic at worst.

Then there's the fact that the relationship doesn't actually get resolved until chapter 42 or 43, and at breakneck speed. YN, who was constantly going on about how he doesn't love BYY and only likes his body, suddenly loves him deeply. Or maybe he doesn't and just thinks it's easy to sleep with him so why not?

I left this story feeling both uncomfortable and unfulfilled.

Maybe this story just wasn't for me.
