Do Good Brothers Not Have Any Pure Friendship? Chapter 60 Discussion

Maybe 3 stars is a lil harsh but I just didn't enjoy it enough to give above.

This is basically a rom-com where Zhang Yanyu (a system turned human) tries to pursue Wen Chenxi as his system-ordained 'good brother' but comes across as aggressively chasing him instead. The misunderstanding is quickly realised by Wen Chenxi and the rest of the novel is him trying to slowly boil Zhang Yanyu into an actual relationship.

Honestly I think it started of pretty funny but doesn't really hold up later on. Obviously there's the whole thing where Wen Chenxi is trying to bend Zhang Yanyu into a relationship while not explicitly setting boundaries (mostly) so your mileage may vary for how much you like/dislike that dynamic.

Zhang Yanyu, I thought he was quite cute at first but I have mixed feelings on him after reading the novel. I understand he was literally a system but his research game is weak. Like if he just went on one internet forum he'd realise his whole dependence and relationship with Wen Chenxi is Not Platonic. For some reason, his super hacking or whatever skills is also a minor plot point but this is the only point he's like not worried is Not Humanlike even though he's literally leagues above everyone else.

Wen Chenxi, he's alright. Basically semi-love at first sight but with how MC was behaving I can't blame the man. Tries to set boundaries (sometimes) but ends up crossing them here and there because MC doesn't resist or think it's too weird? I can't really dislike him when he is literally carrying the relationship on his back.

Romance isn't bad? Wen Chenxi is basically the ultra doting boyfriend who listens to MC. Will always apologize first type

there's this really minor scene where wen chenxi is distracted and forgets to kiss MC after their shower like usual and MC just goes 'aren't you going to kiss me?' instead of idk just kissing him first (they are officially dating by this point). And Wen Chenxi goes into this whole spiral of how he neglected MC and how MC is so straightforward but as a qualified lover you shouldn't let your lover 'fight' for this affection.

Man I really had to read that a couple times. But it's pretty indicative of their relationship
