Childhood Friend of the Zenith is an interesting novel with a good take on the Murim genre with other fantasy elements while not straying too far away from the core of the Murim genre. So far, it seems like a harem done mostly right, which is a needle in a haystack when looking at the sheer number of novels with harem. Though, most of the novels on the site where this is hosted Genesistls do have a harem which is done well on average, ranging from decent to insanely good and Childhood Friend of the Zenith is in the upper echelon of the category. Furthermore, the action is very well done, the face slapping is enjoyable and not overdone, there is a huge mystery and so much more than what is visible on the surface that it is enjoyable read even if all one cares about is the mystery and purely part, without any interest in the romance or action. The comedy is also surprisingly quite decent, especially Spoiler
after the introduction of Elder Shin.
[collapse]Overall, Childhood Friend of the Zenith is an excellent novel with an amazing translation and a good release rate and a novel I would recommend to anyone who doesn't hate harem with a burning passion.
