Okay, so I gave up on alot of wuxia and xianxia novels for alot of obvious reasons. Mainly due to cycling the same plot to each arc.But I gave this novel a shot because genesis tl picked it up and clearly this novel is a couple cut above the rest. So, the story revolves around the MC but does have the occasional pov shift amongst the cast. It's not really annoying but provides a little more insight on why certain stuff happens. At the moment this story is more of a regression wuxia. Yeah, chi, martial arts, and time line nonsense. It keeps the chi and martial arts training simple and doesn't jump from elementary to college. It's more like 1 2 3 4 5 peak etc. Keeps its simple and isn't all focused on grinding. The story focuses more on the character, the past, present, and fighting. The fight scenes are satisfying and doesn't involve like the nonsense pokemon type match up or the ranking abilities bs. You actually get descriptions and imagery on how the fights go.There is tropes that do get followed, some of them deconstruction, others don't really stay for long. Please don't confuse the MC for being dense, he's not dense, he has a very strong bias due to his past. But he is aware just confused.Alright now to the stuff I dislike. It's a regression novel, it follows 2 timeliness. The past timelines and reset timelines. I really dislike that cause alot of novels use that to fill in plot points where they have to be. Ex. I have to be there cause that's where the treasure is kinda nonsense. The good thing is, it's barely there, because guy doesn't care. But it does touch alot on pasts, people, and regrets. It's harem, but so far the girls have personality at less and they progress as he does. At less its not he's gotta save each girl and then move on and they're fences to his house or anything. The comedy really syncs up with my humor though because he has moments where okay it looks fun and then immediately regrets his decision.Overall, the novel is fun, the fights feel alive, the characters are intriguing, and mystery just keeps getting more interesting. But I will say don't take the main character too seriously because he's a tsundere.
