It is no romance but the first part of the story involves a male character so much that I genuinely thought the no romance was a bluff. He really has quite a lot of presence in the novel and I thought he might be the ML but thankfully he was/is not. I don't really like him.It's a new take on having superpowers / different abilities, plus they can be stacked, unlike in zombie novels where it's one or two elements. Very interesting premise on crossing worlds and having gates/doors to different worlds and how they are all connected in the end.It's not a light read but it's not that heavy either so it doesn't leave you feeling depressed. All in all it's a 8/10 for me. I did enjoy it although the ending was slightly lacking. It wasn't abrupt but I felt there was no proper closure. Or to put it another way, the novel is a gift box that had a wrapping paper but there was no ribbon (extra finishing touch).
