How To End a Crush Chapter 8 part1 Discussion

I can't continue reading this book. It's terrifyingly painful. I wonder whether it is the writing style of the author which is so lackluster or the characters who seem no more than cardboard cutouts.

Or maybe it is just me, who would never inconvenience myself this much with a mere crush, to the point where I suffer on my exams.
