Sadly, as seems to have become increasingly common in Japanese light novels, the protagonist is a complete and utter imbecile to the point where it's incredible to me that he's even capable of eating without dribbling all over himself.

Let's give a few examples:

Spoiler

After arriving in a new world and attaining an absurdly high level of 4000 something (because of course he does), he exits the dungeon he's been in and has no idea where civilization is. Rather than using the easy flight spell he's known for quite some time to look around from the air, he decides to walk around aimlessly in the woods for several days like an idiot.

Spoiler

Later he's attacked by level 200ish self-professed bandits, who state their intent (and then try) to torture and kill him for fun. He just exited what he was told was the highest-level dungeon in the world, and the monsters in the area are in the level 50-150 range. Drools-on-himself-kun handily defeats their leader and then lets the mu*derers go, because they're clearly just some harmless, low-level scamps who only joke about mu*dering and torturing complete strangers.

Spoiler

Yet later still, Dropped-on-his-head-kun nearly hands over all his belongings to a level 30 street thug because he, a level 4000 OP protagonist that's been fighting and killing literal demons, is reflexively terrified of confronting a guy taller than him.

1/5 stars. I would love to see stories with protagonists that aren't intellectual equals with garden tools.
