If I was allowed to I would probably rank this more accurately at 3.5 stars.

As others have said, the ambiance of this story is quite a bit more unsettling than the comedy tag would lead you to believe, and there's really not much comedy to speak of throughout the story. I suppose the "comedy" is that Mystia has a personality that seems to turn people yandere for her left and right, but she's so in her own head that she misinterprets all of their actions in strange ways (e.g when her fiance starts acting jealous of her paying attention to his baby brother, she thinks that he's obsessed with his brother). Mystia probably qualifies as a mary-sue but for some reason I didn't really mind it. Maybe because her personality is so low-key that she never felt particularly grating.

(As a side-note: the manga has a much lighter and more shoujo-esque tone. It also moves a lot faster. So for anyone who wants to read a version of this that is a bit more romantic and comedic, I would recommend that version.)

The reason I rate the story higher is because it almost works as a psychological thriller. Mystia spends much of the story like a girl being hunted (although she misunderstands the source of this apprehension), she's constantly on edge and trying to run away. It's pretty eerie watching all of the love interests growing more and more unstable as a result of her blatant avoidance. There's this sense that at any moment things could escalate.

Here's the downside; it doesn't really. Sure, there are some twists and turns and conspiracies but the ending (actually there's multiple alternate endings) felt a little anticlimactic. There are also some plot arcs that drag on a little too long. There's a lot of build-up but not a whole lot of payoff.

Still, it made an impression on me and I really did enjoy reading it.
