As a Captain, You Must Be Cold Chapter 68 Discussion

This novel is basically slice of life.

There's no big challenge or hurdle that the MC's have to conquer except for winning the championship, which they're obviously going to win. Either way, there's nothing in this novel that gets my blood boiling with excitement, so I feel kinda bored.

The MC is cute and the ML isn't just some cold, black-bellied CEO and actually has a personality so that's a plus point.

The romance in this novel in pretty neat. But most of the plot has no suspense at all, the MC's team wins every game easily. This stands true for upto chapter 67.

Another thing to note, this novel has heavy elements of xenophobia especially against Koreans.

There hasn't been a single good or morally upstanding Korean team in this novel yet. According to the author, they all have to use underhanded tactics or are bad-mannered and rude.

This makes me quite uncomfortable as it seems like the author is really digging at the Koreans here, going as far as to diss a Korean team for not liking Chinese food even though the main cast also expressed slight dislike towards Korean food.

If you don't mind this and are looking for a novel filled with fluff where basically everyone is a fan of MC (lmao) and romance comes pretty early (MC and ML are already open about their feelings to eachother even though it's only chapter 67), then you can go ahead and read this novel.

You can basically turn your brain off and read this, you don't even have to read the eSports part as it doesn't even affect the following dialogues much.

Overall, I'd rate this novel a 4.2/5.
