*Sorry for my english, it is my third langage. ** I didn't put on the chapter because I forgot where I was before I abandoned it : <C100-120

I will begin this by saying that you will most probably like this and the other books from this author (I tried some of them before finding out that its the same thing) if a very well written mental break love story seems like something you will enjoy.

Anyway, for me, I'm done with this story. I can see the point of the story and it isn't something that interested me. I believe that a story shouldn't be given a bad review for something that it is obviously going to be. And what is here is without doubt from me very well written. It is just not for me. Sadly I dont know how to change my review from the 1 star I put when I began to write this to a 3 stars I now believe it deserve after some reflection.

------

The story had so much potential to be something great for me. Yes, even the romance with a mother figure that might have turned off some early readers. It started out as a sweet, wholesome tale about caring for and healing an ab*sed child. But then the child started manipulating the main character, pushing her into uncomfortable territory with themes of masochism, which felt really unsettling. The author pushes the idea that lust is more important than love, or at least that a relationship should start with it. I heavily struggled through the semi-r*pe mind break brainwashing segment with the child.

After that part, I was beginning to be actually excited when the child had a character development where she realized that love is the basis of a relationship, before it cuts back to the main character who has become a masochist due to the mind break and suddenly falls in love (becomes h*rny and ar*used) with the Duchess. Every character tries to push the girl into becoming a masochist, from the girl's father to a "friend" to a prepubescent (semi-daughter). They all try to brainwash her, like literary, and it's horribly disturbing to watch. I kept reading this far partly out of morbid curiosity and partly because I was hoping there was something more to it, that it couldn't just be THIS.

I never got past this part (the maid realizing she's a masochist and needs the duchess after the mind break that REWROTE her from a sad*st to a masochist).

I really wished the novel had stayed on its original path, because I really liked the book up until that point. Or that at least the romance was written with more maturity and less fetishism.

I understand that the author is trying to write a story about power imbalance between a incredibly d*mb maid and a almost godly child who doesn't understand a lot of thing about life, but this isn't it.

I think the part where the weirdness (fetishism), really gets going is when the father gives his daughter the BD*M book his wife wrote for HIM, when he was an ADULT. Like the author knows that its f*ck*ed up, the maid tries to explain it, but sadly she is too d*mb to actually make an argument. So she decides (is brainwashed by everyone around her) to try it before judging it. The worst part is that the father himself said that the book was too much for him and that he never used it on his wife.

It is at the very least very well written and the beginning of the novel was incredibly wholesome.
