I generally like Isekai novels and have pretty low standards for them, but there really doesn't seem to be anything here to enjoy. The author doesn't have the MC use his cheat in any interesting or creative ways. He simply finds something he wants to do, uses his cheat, and accomplishes it almost immediately. The MC moves from one trivial task to another without any sense of direction or accomplishment. There's plenty of places which would have been good candidates for explanation or world building but they're all glossed over.

I'm usually willing to overlook unrealistic situations or even shoehorned events, but they're painfully bad in this novel. The main character catches a mermaid with a fishing hook, who states in about three lines that she looks down on land dwellers but because she's been caught she has to marry him. She says all of this pretty much without any meaningful reply from the main character. A few chapters later she's idolizing the main character for his power. Like his cheat, her main role seems to be to provide convenient solutions for the inconveniences in his life, while adding a line or two of dialogue here and there.

The translation (at this time) is MTL. It's not the worst MTL i've read and pretty much every line is understandable. I didn't run into lines where I was stumped by what was meant. That said, the sentences read poorly because they need editing so it doesn't feel like I'm reading a story. Even with better editing, however, I don't think the story is salvageable.
