Buy the Land And Cultivate in Different World Chapter 6 Discussion

This is a solid but not groundbreaking homestead building story that you can't take too seriously.

First let's get the elephant out of the room. The early chapters are horribly translated, as others have stated. Mak5 is not a real translator, they're one of that unfortunate wave of lazy MTL dumps, unedited even, that believe they can cash grab. This is killing the community and the scene because the old courtesy of letting a translator have their titles, which was always a bad idea for readers in the first place, is utterly unworkable with MTLs and taking donations. Unfortunately that means we're stuck with these garbage ones. V-rusl picks up around ch 38, and they're at least readable, although I don't think that great either. Maybe they get better, I've only read a couple of their translations before posting this review.

There is a manga that you should read instead, and then skip directly to v-rustl's translations. It is a fun manga that is again flawed, but I found enjoyable. It's because of this manga that I even looked for this WN and struggled through those early chapters, which I found unneeded because the manga covers everything there better anyway.

Now for the actual story, it's isekai where the MC gets a broken gift and can farm and do lots of stuff with his broken power. He ends up farming and creating things, then is joined by an ever growing cast of people, including a mermaid wife. Other gods and power figures visit him and befriend him, he is able to make them tasty food and drinks that they are unaware of. The characters tend towards the comedic and silly, and the settlement keeps growing over time. He's essentially the strongest person in the world and nobody can really challenge him, but most don't even try. When they do, the comedy lolidragon character usually gets them in line. The lolidragon, Veil, to me is the highlight, as they usually are when written comedically, and this one hits for me. Even if it doesn't for you, odds are you'll find at least one character that does since it's an eclectic range. The MC is uninspiring, more a blank canvas than anything else but at least isn't overly offensive.
