I'm going to keep this review fairly short. This series starts out decently strong, nothing too special but funny and the characters/story are good enough. I was enjoying reading all the way up through Spoiler

the end of the fight against the Demon Lord and the aftermath

[collapse]. I enjoyed seeing other characters reactions to the MC (although after 300+ chapters it's literally the exact same schtick every time and gets really old).

Unfortunately at that point it feels like the author decided to drag out the series and the quality started taking a large hit as a result. Events that would take maybe 10 chapters before are suddenly stretched out into 40+ chapters, the villains take a massive step back and barely feel threatening, and many characters are sidelined for multiple volumes to introduce new characters that are basically less interesting copies of existing ones.

I may have kept trying to push through even with all the above, if not for the fact that this is yet another japanese novel where every female in a 50 mile radius falls for the MC but he's a dense, clueless, as*hole who treats all women like sh*t but strangely has no problems being super friendly with guys and yet every girl is fine with it anyway. I'm just so tired at this point of so many japanese novels making everyone simp for the MC but then refusing to actually have any sort of romantic plot.

Anyway, if you want something amusing and decently written that's an okay time waster, feel free to check out the first 285 chapters or so. I think if I had stopped reading at that point I would have given the series an extra star.
