Goblin Slayer Year One, LN

Wow i thought it was a spin-off manga that started because of the popularity of the main manga and not a manga adaptation of the spin-off novel of the main novel. 

There's a light novel for the year 1 side story so I was wondering if it's worth getting. I read the manga, so I'm asking anyone who read the novel does it have more content? I usually get the books for GS, but the manga for Year 1 coming out first is making me wonder if it's worth it. 

How much content ahead. The manga for Year 1 is up to GB defending that village and the other characters just beat the rock worm. 

The LN has more content or should I say, you can read more and ahead of the manga. It also includes official illustrations and origin stories to particular characters in the main story. 

I say yes, the manga was good so far. It shows gs struggle to his current silver rank. As well as the other characters flushing them out. Also a qn, there is a translated vol of Gs year 1 out already? 

Read the novels instead if you don't mind having little to no images. LN has a whole lot more detail and in general is adapted to manga and anime, thus LN is always ahead. Currently there are 6 LNs available, 5 for the main arc, and 1 side story (year one). 

The novels is much more detailed so i suggest to read the novel 

The manga should adapt most of the content of the light novel, but if you want more details and also desire to read ahead, instead of waiting for the translated chapters. I suggest reading the light novel.
I don't know which is which, but I do know I want to read these Side Stories volumes 1, 2, and 3.
