The cast of this novel is really unique and crazy, but not in an annoying way. The FL's thought process is just really wacky and her interactions with the other characters are all refreshing. Everyone is also a little... weird? But in an endearing way.

The ML decides to marry FL because she saved him when he was young and the reward she wanted was to marry a rich man, and he realized he was the richest man her age (how thoughtful lol). The empress decides to attempt su*cide when she was falsely accused of assassinating the ML to prove her innocence ?! Also the empress is not your typical evil stepmother, she used to be an imperial knight and her mannerisms are more crass and uncouth, but really funny. She also genuinely cares about the ML since she used to be his personal guard and even nearly sacrificed herself to save him.

There is also an intriguing underlying plot and the quality of translation is great. The translator is friendly as well! I highly recommend reading this.

The ML is disguised as another person and wants to dig around to find out if the FL likes him (he is the crown prince). So while disguised as this dubious stranger (he's currently an intern from a foreign country), he goes up to her, saves her from a lecherous person and asks her what she thinks about marrying the crown prince. When she's like ??, his defense is: questions like 'What if you marry the Crown Prince?' are asked as ordinary greetings in his country 😂
