A very interesting and unique setting. I love the dynamic between the ML & MC. Very wholesome and funny.ML‘s childhood is surprisingly dark and MC’s task is to solve ML‘s secrets while dealing with a bunch of „fake“ and h**ny MLs. I didn’t expect a mystery, crime (?) story from this especially not after reading the synopsis and the first few chapters but it’s very well written, so it’s not completely off putting. I think the author achieved a good balance between comedy, mystery and a bit of angst.The only thing I was dissatisfied with was how the author completely disregarded MC‘s problem with his parents and never found a solution for that problem. His parents are tiger parents: very strict, controlling and annoying. They or mostly his mom expects nothing but perfection from him. His mom was lowkey (mentally) abusing her child and it was very obvious that MC hated his family situation. He mentioned multiple times how boring and monotonous his life was until he met ML. How he hated his parents fake demeanor and etc. So for the author to put a heavy emphasis on that only to completely ignore this later on was very disappointing and unexpected. Or maybe I just completely missed it due to mtl-ing the story but as far as I know the MC is still in contact with his mom.
