rating: 4.5 but rounded up to 5.0 bc such a unique and interesting plot!The story is so good! I was expecting for some nonsense & comedy storyline bc that is the vibes I get from the title, cover, and summary but I got hit with mystery and angst!! I love it!Notes:

- Idk if author was getting some IRL inspiration but damn when they wrote the MC Chu Feng'sparents during the childhood flashback is well written I was annoyed whenever they appear. Spoiler
The reprimand-mix-with-"concern" and the you-owe-everything-from-us is just captured well lol

- My only concern was the phasing. The flashback sections are too long vs the present. For me, it became a small progress in the present timeline; a huge flashback; small progress in the present. Spoiler
It was still bearable with the 24yo Dr. Xie but the flashback with 7yo and 13yo Xie was just insane
