Someday Will I Be The Greatest Alchemist? Chapter 41 Discussion

This is perhaps the most mediocre and stereotypical reincarnation novel that I have ever read in my entire life. It feels so unoriginal that it is almost painful to read. If there is a trope then it uses it and sticks to the exact most overused version of the trope. If this was my first time reading a Japanese light novel I would probably really like it. But unfortunately it's not, the complete and utter lack of any sort of originality numbs my brain. I could see any and all plot developments coming a mile away. For example Spoiler

he gets hot s*aves that suddenly love him just because he doesn't treat them like absolute garbage and are super loyal, he faithfully recreates Japanese weapons, he makes modern conveniences with magic sells them and becomes instantly rich, he has the blessing of a goddess that makes him level up his skills with literally little to no effort on his part, he used to be an middle aged tired salaryman but got reincarnated young, he got a cute animal mascot that eventually transforms into a young girl, there are other people who were summoned and the summoners are evil in self righteous holier than thou kind of way, MC has all the personality of a particularly normal brick, and many other things that I can't think of right now.

[collapse] I don't know if it will get better eventually but I'm not willing to waste my time to find out. If light novels were food this would be unsalted boiled potatoes.
