The Ugly Wife of the Shady Duke Chapter 131 Discussion

I feel like it’s more detective mystery (the detective being Grace, the MC herself) rather than romance, which isn’t a bad thing, but you should turn away if you’re looking for a romance fantasy novel.

The story is more of her trying to figure out who actually killed her, and why the og body is the way it is. A lot of internal monologues of her and we can see clearly her way of thinking.

I don’t dislike the MC. She’s strong and smart, but also realistically burdened by her upbringing and surroundings.

It seems like other than being teased/ostracised since little, the og body also actually has a curse of some sort. It’s interesting to me because she has self-destructive intrusive thoughts, and she knows it. She tries to fight them off but sometimes succumb to the anxiety those thoughts give her.

Although his actions are sweet and seem in love, he’s also quite suspicious and ambiguous for me. He seems genuinely caring to the MC, but never actually confesses directly. He’s gentle towards her but very harsh towards anyone that hurts her.

I’m not a fan of the pacing and writing, but it’s more likely to be the MTL.

Not completed yet, but the raws I read is only until here, and I don’t really have interest to continue too tbh. It ends up being there’s like some magic organisation behind these incidents. The motive is unclear so far. I feel like at this point, there should be more clues to her death tbh.
