After Being Mistakenly Taken for a Fellow Traveler by Emperor Long Aotian Chapter Completed Discussion

Incredibly underrated.

This one has got to be one of my favorites in this type of genre. Although it's not a revolutionary or new plot and concepts, this is a gem in giving the ML and MC emotional depth. Initially I didn't want to read this because of the only review by 'dead water' saying it reminded them of 2HA. There were parts to 2HA I liked, but overall when I finished 2HA I just knew I wouldn't pick it back up again, as the emotional parts that I really liked were entirely overshadowed by the frustrations at the huge amounts of overly complicated plots/twists, and s*xual assault. (Of course this is MY OPINION on 2ha. If you liked it, good for you)

But I can only say I'm so incredibly glad I chose to read it anyway because these two were not even remotely alike at all. The main selling point of this isn't the plot, but rather the connection between the MC and ml. The MC has gone through some of the worst things before crossing paths with the ML, who in this case is the seme transmigrator. ML is a bit foolish, but so kind, endearing, and charming all at the same time. He's the breath of fresh air that not only encourages, but does and says things all for the sake of MC achieving his dreams.

The ML is a very effective communicator and never leaves any misunderstandings for MC to be hurt over. The same could be said about MC. He knows the ML is a transmigrator so he is always so considerate and thoughtful of specifically knowing the ACTUAL ML and not the emperor of which ML has become. My heart ACHED so much when we get insight into MC's thoughts on what it truly means to transmigrate to a whole different time and space. You lose your entire identity and sense of self, to the point where you are so alone in the world. So far this is one of very very few where the author has the characters not only openly talk to each other about these lonely feelings, but never forgets it afterwards. You could say this is the main theme of the novel, finding a way out of the quagmire, washing the mud and dust off and growing anew.

Another point that the author never forgets, is the idea of how the light of the stars we see now took hundreds of thousands of years to reach us. May be confusing now if you're reading this review first before starting the novel, but it's soooo incredibly heart wrenching whenever it's brought up. These are seriously my favorite types of novels. It doesn't have to be such a grand concept like ORV or expand hundreds and hundreds of chapters to make it good. Its about having enough meat on the emotional aspects that makes me wish the characters can achieve everything and anything they set their hearts to.

One of the most best part is that the ML NEVER FORCES MC!!!!! He's so f*cking good, because the bar is in hell in this department!!!!! Even when drugged with aphrodisiacs, he still holds back and tells MC he could NEVER do something so shallow to MC. Not to mention, he is incredibly mindful of MC's trauma of being tied up and sexually assaulted and ab*sed by the fifth prince. THE BAR IS USUALLY IN HELL BUT NOT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

The ending part sort of tapers off after the major plot is resolved, but honestly, good for them tbh! Also, as for face slapping the villains, they for sure did not have it good in this one. Everything comes full circle. Once you kill someone, you dig your own grave. That's all I can say about that.

I loved this one so much. Even the modern extras lol. I MTLed using google translate on the raws, so I know I did lose some certain nuances, but it was not too bad. I will definitely be coming back to read once more chapters are translated.

Lots of explaining Character backgrounds which is good but the story is a little slow and confusing. May need extra help with editing. The story improves with each chapter.
