The story so far is fun and interesting. Characters are intelligent, the conflict so far comes from different interests and character traits, not anybody being a canon fodder who only exists as a stepping stone to main characters. Family relationships and political setting don't appear simple, but it is too early to really tell.The baby empress is spiteful but hilarious, the kids around her act like kids.
