First let me start off by saying my actual current rating is more like 3.5 but since I'm unable to actually give that rating directly I decided to be nice and round up.

First off I'll adress the elephant in the room. How does this compare to Re:Monster and Goblin Kingdom? To keep things short and readable I'll list the pros and cons of this in spoiler tags. But if you've read either of the other two these lists should allow you to grasp how it compares to them. If you've read neither then just reading the pros and cons for Green Skin itself will still help.

Re:Monster

Spoiler

Pros

    • MC is a bit smarter as he makes use of everything he can despite how OP his ability is although he is maybe a little too perfect and clever at times.
    • MC is most balanced in terms of human mind in monster body and has a well defined moral code.
    • MC's ability is the most powerful and does result in some interesting abilities and his evolution path is one of the most interesting among the "reincarnated as a monster" genera.
    • Has the largest relevant cast among the three that manages to have good variety of characters.

Cons

    • MC becomes OP so fast you can't really call it a "weak to strong" story and is really just "OP esper reincarnates into OP Monster Lord"
    • Due to the "diary" like writing style the story has especially weak character development outside of the MC and what he perceives of those around him
    • Large cast is also a con as it contributes to weak character development

Goblin Kingdom

Spoiler

Pros

    • Has a medium sized cast that is neither too large nor too small. This allows for a lot of interesting characters that have decent development
    • Battles are very well written and have a relatively good balance of drama to them.

Cons

    • MC is a probably the dumbest among the three. His one good point is his will power to not bow down to others and his ambition but even this is rather generic and not terribly interesting.
    • MC is least balanced in terms of human mind in monster body and feels FAR too human. This doesn't stop the story from constantly reminding you that it wants you to think of him as a savage monster despite his very human actions.
    • MC's abilities suck and his development is also a bit slow. While it's nice to have an MC without a god like cheat skill he should have at least a more interesting ability.
    • In counter to Re:Monster the MC feels a bit lacking is power for too long. While becoming OP too fast isn't good having the MC muddle along too much is also not good.

Green Skin

Spoiler

Pros

    • MC is smart and well developed. He's not a born genius but he's also not a moron.
    • MC's abilities are also fairly interesting without being too OP. It takes a while for his abilities to really develop but his unique skill has some interesting potential to it and his evolutionary path isn't too special but isn't too boring either
    • Story has perhaps the best pacing with the story neither progressing too fast nor too slow.

Cons

    • Character development is so so. While not as bad as Re:Monster in some aspects it also has the smallest relevant cast and still manages to make a lot of them fairly flat.
    • MC has decent balance in terms of human mind in monster body but is a bit too quick to abandon his human morals.
    • MC is also a bit overly brutal. In some ways this could be considered a good thing but given the personality he generally displays some of his brutality feels excessive and out of character as if he's taking such action just to help maintain the brutal tone.

Pros and cons aside the tone is a dark one which may turn some off but also not. See it's not so dark that it's disgusting but it also tends to make the same mistake a lot of dark series make and act as if law, order, and any sense of honor or chivalry don't exist for humans... unless you're the MC or specific characters who are either chaotic good or lawful neutral. The issue is that given the fight for survival they appear to be in it seems like they should have bigger issues to deal with than being human tr*sh to anyone they can. The issues isn't as bad as with most other dark series as the tr*sh isn't obnoxiously immoral, like in some series there most of the cast seem to almost live only to make everyone else suffer, but the series could still have benefited by lightening up the dark tone a tad and showing the cities to have at least some sense of actual law and order.
