finally got around to reading this series after toriyama passed, I gotta say out respect for toriyama I'll give this series a 6/10 but its more like a 5/10 I know its gag manga series but eh I feel a lot of the jokes form the manga theater omnibus were better, till LOOOVED the art style and some jokes were good like in the 1st volume and when arale hung herself for the detachable head gag but eh I like dragonball better for also better jokes & a more coherent & consistent story
All and all Dr.Slump was a pretty fun read, Senbei was awesome and Akria Toriyama's sense of humor was really charming, and just a nice experience overall.
It's a pretty great manga. I still think it went on for a little too long and it gets a bit repetitive. I also think most of the best moments are early on. The only really great characters that are introduced later on are the Tsun family. And since it's episodic most of the time it probably fits better as a weekly read.
More people should definitely read this. Toriyama doesn't deserve to be known only for Dragon Ball, even if that is his best work.
