I can't tell if it's the writing quality or the translation quality, but it noticeably improves as you read. It's a 5/5 plot and character wise and the pacing is good too. The setting is generic but it is not boring due to the introduction of mythology inspired characters and objects as well as the way the MC interacts with them. I would give a 4/5 out of for the earlier parts actually and say that it rises to a 5/5 by the last available chapters. I also appreciate that the MC doesn't actively simp for the female protagonist's around him and maintains a clear-headed eye on the goal - survival.
