The Academy’s Weapon Replicator Chapter 42 part2 Discussion

So I only read up to chapter 42 so take my comments with a grain of salt.

First up, it's not bad, or at least not completely. The world is interesting, the general flow of the story is fine and some events can be really surprising.

Now for the sad part, the author ('s writing ?) isn't all that great. I don't know when it started exactly but around chapter 30, I remarked that the author started mixing up things. Some events would suddenly be talked about like they were written before (/happened) but actually never were and sometimes they don't even make sense.

Spoiler

One example, would be a fight that the hero has with a vilain where the hero gets surprised and barely survive the encounter.

After the encounter, the "superiors/teachers/pros/others" all get together and imagine a reason for which the hero didn't tell them about the ambush when it happen (they mistakenly believe that the hero only called for help rather than handling it himself) However, right after, the author writes and I quote :

"As [One teacher] had suspected, [Hero] had intuited that there was a traitor among the teachers. If someone informed them, the perpetrator might discover it. This would put them in even greater danger. Hence, they hadn't informed the teachers."

[collapse]

This is nonsensical. You may say it's fine but when it start happening multiple time you start wondering if you can even trust what you are reading and well... why read it then ?

Another problem would be the facts that most character are very limited. The only time when you discover a bit of their personality is when they stay in contact with the hero for more than let's say 5 chapters. Otherwise, they only matters for 5 lines when they are used for something then they disappear once again in the background waiting to be used again.
