This novel is a character-focused slice of life story. Those parts of the novel are good and when chapters that focus on the MCs past happen while giving a better understanding of MC's personality, it is even better. The problem here for me is that it focuses too much on the politics despite how boring it is here. I don't necessarily hate politics in stories but MC's passive role in the story, the incompetent enemies, and barely any focus on other factions/countries (basically a proper world-building) made it very uninteresting.
