Dropped at chapter 44 because it feels like a waste of time to continue it.The summary described the MC as a sweet and gentle scum but what I get is an indecisive and boring MC. I'm not sure if you can call the MC mature just because he acted as a bigger person when interacting with the bratty ML.The MC's liking is so shallow, who would propose to someone after not seeing them for 6 years? Especially when they are not even dating in the first place. So far, the MC gives the impression as if he is not really looking for love, or at least that's not the priority. He is looking for a partner whom he can be together with for a long time so it doesn't have to be the white moonlight..? Heck, he doesn't even seem to be that heartbroken when he knew the WML had a fiancé. It feels like no one in this novel knows what like/love is.The MC and ML both mistook each other as the white moonlight at the hotel. The WML is a selfish person. The MC's mother is also another selfish person. Honestly, there isn't a single likable character in this novel. If I had to choose I probably like the ML the most. Not saying the ML is great but at least he is firm in his decisions and is able to see things clearly. As much as he acts like a rouge towards the MC, he still gave MC his help and support behind the scenes. He gives and takes. There is still an inkling of sincerity in his actions. I think the author wanted a suave ML with bad boy vibes but it didn't really work out.The MC on the other hand seems to be able to give his gentleness to anyone but the ML, even after the MC have somewhat warm up towards him. For example, after the MC knew the WML had a fiancé and disapprove of his actions thus wanting to draw a line, he is still able to show care for the WML. Is the MC such a gentleman or is he just wishy washy. When the WML shows a pitiful face, "He, softened. He couldn't stand Omegas acting like this". Bruh this guy treated you like a spare tire don't you have some pride.Later on, the WML wanted to share a table with the MC and ML alongside his fiancé. Anyone could tell it would be hella uncomfortable but the MC let them join because "he is not afraid of them". Who would risk indigestion like this?? The ML very obviously doesn't want to sit with them and gets pissed after the WML said something ridiculous. It does feel like it's because the MC acts like this that the ML blows his top so often because who wouldn't? Having people whom you dislike pushed to your face and enduring their nauseating behavior. As for the romance, the main leads have negative chemistry. You'd think love rivals to lovers would be hot and full of tension but this author will show you that it is instead frustrating as hell. The couple just isn't doing it for me. The only plus point is the MC perspective about becoming an Omega. He knows it is something he can't change physically so he doesn't dwell on it. However, there is still this mental barrier that he can't cross after having been an Alpha for so long. It was realistic and well-written.Overall, the characters are inconsistent and the plot is all over the place. Might be a bit harsh but it's been a while since I've came across a novel with so many unlikable characters even though my tolerance for junk food is pretty high.
