MC is a father who stepped up because he's disappointed with the parent-guardians the series. The children are smart and discovered a new path outside of the family conflict thanks to the MC's intervention.

I love how the author commits to the bad reputation of the previous host, and exploring the origins of his wretched personality. The MC doesn't even try to sympathize, but is angered with the recurring situation with host!MC and ML's generation. He cares greatly of his previous life, so the MC is trying to return home. He is detached and rolls with the reputation and wealth that he's given.

ML is the first to fall in love. Their interaction is very natural given where they started.

Spoiler

I like that because it is over the course of 10 years before the events of the 'story' begins, there is progress but strange developments on MC's side; I'm anxious for him. Each dungeon he enters he views the memories of the host!MC's and he starts to forget his original identity. The visceral reactions when he tries to remember...

And the fact that he can no longer read the 'original story' after the third dungeon. I love that the main character is still true, and that he's letting his guard down. He was avoiding having new experiences and building connections but he's made the decision to eat good food and interact with people based on his integrity as a person. But not at the expense of himself...
