I really enjoy this novel. This isn't another isekai where the MC simply beats others into submission, nor where the author tries to make the MC a genius strategist but can't quite sell it. The MC succeeds in building political power through what feels (at least to me) through a plausible combination of wits (including knowing when to rely on others), diplomacy, and a reasonable amount of luck. For good measure, the translation reads as smoothly as you could ask! It's not perfect: I particularly think the occasional passage describing the perspective of the far future is a mistake. (On the plus side, I feel like those passages have become less frequent as the series has continued.) But then how many books are perfect? I'm always looking forward to the next chapter release, and I'm comfortable rating it five stars.
