A great down to earth story of a 60 year old man who gets a second chance at life when he’s 25. There’s no great drama or shocking events, just a man trying to live a better life after living a life of laziness and neglect. He doesn’t immediately try for becoming a billionaire or anything like that but to just put in an honest effort for his family. He has a wife and two kids and the relationship is very natural and real. He doesn’t become a perfect husband but tries to he an honest one who makes an effort for her and the family. From the looks of it he seems to want to become a fisherman and support his family that way and to be honest I’m all for that. The author leaves a lot of notes about what he writes and you can genuinely feel how living in the seaside country would be like from little kids to grandparents. The translator Zulfa does a great job and is genuinely invested invested in the story and leaves refreshing TN’s at the end of the chapters. All in all this story is a very realistic and honest portrayal of countryside life and relationships between family and friends. A great chicken soup for me since I prefer darker stories generally.
