I'm still in the process of reading this novel. I did want to clarify something a previous user mentioned. Maybe it wasn't very clear because the author did not specify the age, rather described the passing of time in seasons. At this point, the baby is 3 years old upon returning to China. I don't know anything about the other details yet. I can only assume the author is working off fiction and fantasy ^^; I've noticed many writers do not realistically write children according to their ages. A lot of liberties are taken for the sake of their stories.
