The First Boss of Horror Tales Chapter 60 Discussion

I agree with Rakutau's review, the MC, Wei E, seemingly encounters situations where he would conveniently get the necessary stuff to clear the dungeon, clues seemingly attracted to him, and monsters would target his ass. However, the more I read I can somehow.... rationalize it????

Wei E (Protagonist)

He was imposed a condition or a condition wherein he automatically pulls the aggro on all the monsters in it. He is not very OP as you'd imagine him to be. Yes he is strong, but he carefully analyzes the situation before him and struggled countless of times with the monsters (especially that ONE monster) as he deals with the special condition the system gave him.

Yes there are plot holes. The MTL was a bit hard to read and understand but it is doable.

I can't give any reason as to why he always stumble upon the right prop to trigger a hidden branch line story or conveniently get the prop needed to further progress the story except that it is a plot device by the author lol.

His appearance gives off an intimidating aura, he won't hesitate to get his way, one way or another. But he always returns favors and is pretty cute.

I love Wei E so much, I wished the author didn't mention how his silver hair stood out, how red his lips are and his eyes in every paragraph.

Him as a character is charming and I love his scuffles with *redacted*.

The Lord God that followed him from the previous infinite world. We met him in the first instance but a bit later into the story. He is bloodthirsty, he doesn't care about humans, he calls Wei E 'ant'. When I found out that he's the male lead, I was a bit mad. Wei E deserved better than someone who constantly puts him in danger and broke the current infinite game's barrier (?) And occupy the first instance's boss only to kill him.

I was sceptical whether romance could bloom. But so far i've been treated to SO MANY unresolved s*xual tension. Whenever these two are in screen, there will be blood, blood-sucking, threats of eating, threats of enjoying the other's pain while holding each other and in an ambiguous pose.

*redacted* or Shen Lang (??) (There's a rule where you cannot say, hear or see his full name, or any other God's name as it is a taboo.) Is super possessive and he likes.... Wei E's neck so much lmaoo. More semi-strangling than hand holding istg.

And this UST is seen by Wei E's team so... way to go lovebirds we don't need to hear Shen Lang saying Wei E's mouth could be used in many other ways, one of them would be moaning in pain ugh.

And also.... lots of kabedon HAHA.

Supporting Characters

Xie Yuanzhen:

MY BOYYYY OUR DAY ONEEEEE!!!!! He is a true Holy Father aaaaaaa! He is strong tooo sobs I love him for always being there for Wei E. Wei E still uses the knife that XYZ gave him and I always smile when Wei E mentions the knife every now and then.

Xie Yuanzhen is so endearing. He is selfless I could say (for now). He is a taoist who is super aware of the things around him and notices strange things that our MC also notices. He was a beacon of light before MC's appearance and still is even after. He's very rational and his words are able to bring relief to his team. I give a big kiss to u XYZ♡!

Others:

Other than XYZ, Tang Qin and Chen Cheng are cute. I'm not gonna lie to you folks, they are not very impressive. But eh, maybe because I haven't gotten to the meat of the story yet!

System, Game Mechanics and World Building:

It reminds me so much with The Earth is Online with how they didn't really get dragged into another world but more how those worlds invade ours. If you fail to clear these instances, it will manifest in real life and create a forbidden are for humans to live as the legends and myths came alive.

It is interesting! I love it so much and a breath of fresh air too. I love seeing the way the world respond to these events and it has a livestteam mechanic too, so the reactions of these viewers are so entertaining hahaha.

The instances are hard, you have to struggle, observe and alert. A lot of ordinary people that got dragged into the instance die often. Mortality rate is high, so people like Xie Yuanzhen, Tan Qing, Wei E, Chen Cheng, and others who survive these instances are worthy of respect and awe. It is so hard that half of the players are more likely to be wiped out in the first hour.

I love how it didn't make it easy for our MC too.
