While the starting premise is cliche and over dramatic, the rest seems fairly well done. While it's a little early in the story, the characters and setting are interesting. It's in the 80s, which is an era of China I'm not terribly familiar with. For the the genre, it's not breaking any new ground, but it's not destroying old ground either. I'd call it satisfying.The translation is good, with only a little awkwardness in phrasing and some minor spelling errors. Props to the translator! Thanks for the hard work.Overall, a solid 4 star.
