Pretty mediocre all around. Enjoyed it initially, but got dull and boring partway through. Each individual character has their charm, but the plot itself gets repetitive really fast. Not to mention how for over half of the novel, the MC is relatively weak in comparison to those around him and is always in need of protection. He’s practically a spectator and in the case that he does take action, he needs saving or nearly dies. Now onto the romance. I was honestly a fan of it, again, initially. First two women, more in particular the first are well written. They’re given time to grow and their interactions are interesting. Those that follow however are meh. Furthermore, the romance slowly begins to devolve into the women surrounding him often being prone to jealousy and the MC walking on eggshells, constantly trying to pacify them. The women in this novel practically held him by the balls the entire time.Lastly, the latter part of this novel hardly makes any sense in regard to the progression of events. Especially in regard to the organization that has been the primary antagonist for the majority of the novel suddenly switching up without any explanation. What follows that is no better as it’s just the MC risking his life repeatedly. Ending sucks as well, but that’s per usual.Read if you have nothing else better to do, but otherwise you aren’t missing out on much.
