The Legitimate Daughter Doesn’t Care! Chapter 5 Discussion

Maybe I'm expecting too much of a school novel, but the author says that the male and female leads can switch consciousnesses whenever they please, and they tell us:

"For many years now, Tong Yan and Xu Xinduo could swap bodies. In order not to be exposed, they made great efforts to cover it up."

And then, the first thing the male lead does when he swaps consciousnesses with the female lead is to act like a complete psychopath and completely out of character for her, suddenly threatening with property damage, lying about her classmates, then coming in and causing a great ruckus by acting like a complete hooligan, exactly the way he is and she isn't.

Author, in what way are they trying to cover anything up? The male lead clearly doesn't care at all if he's exposed, or what kind of first impression their classmates will have of the girl who is sitting his exams for him. It's frankly off-putting exactly because the author pretends that they are doing the exact opposite. It's not like there's any shortage of psychopatic male leads in Chinese novels, so if he were described as a hooligan and a loose cannon who doesn't really care about the female lead initially, it would have been much more reasonable behaviour.
