I really like the development of the story so far. The MC is reasonable and he's the sort that is kind, but is also the type that sets boundaries and knows when to be firm when needed. The ML as of right now is like a stoic puppy like figure right now; but at the moment their development is slow burn.Their interactions are mild and the kids that the MC picked up are cute. Very plot heavy, as expected of an apocalyptic novel but there's the sense of pervading hope even when things are bleak. The MC pulls no punches and literally thinks up the most riskiest plans to get his group out of danger and that's why so many people are drawn to him. Haven't gotten up to the reveal yet though.
