Stimulating To Be Raised By A Virtual Lover Chapter 81 Discussion

The basic premise is that MC is a lonely person who meets the ML through a game, but soon discovers that there's more to their relationship and ML's identity. There isn't much conflict, and the ML is your typical overpowered/doting/possessive character. There's a lot of fluff! But also some plot holes

The truth about MC and ML is that

Spoiler

the two actually met over 300 years ago, because ML was an AI created by ML's parents to become the World Administrator and take over ruling. An opposing group argued that ML didn't know how to love as an AI, so 300 years later (aka present time), they were going to test ML to see if he could love and thus take over as World Admin again. Why 300 years, you ask? Because MC had a disease and was basically frozen for 300 years so he could get better. MC's parents are also frozen so they're also alive in present time. They don't have any actual names (probably because they're so insignificant) and in present time, they're now a big happy family of 4, which... is a little weird. The relationship between MC and his parents doesn't go in depth and they left him alone while he was forced into child labor in his childhood, which feels like something they completed glossed over.

One of my only complaints is that ML treats MC like a child, so it doesn't feel like an equal relationship.

Spoiler

For example, making an amusement park for MC. ML says that it's a 4-person park, for the two of them and the MC's parents. It's hard to see the actual development of their relationship because most of the novel is ML calling MC "cute" and a "little friend." Sometimes it seems like he treats MC more like a small animal than he does an actual lover? And MC seems dependent on him and overly attached to his parents.

Overall, a cute read if you're bored, but maybe don't expect things to be logical. The mysteriousness at the beginning of the novel was intriguing, but it devolved into what feels like the shallow development of MC and ML's relationship. It's a love between a human and AI but

Spoiler

ML gets a physical body in the end, after maybe about 60 chapters.

Pretty good until the last chapters before epilogue. The last chapters felt rushed and were difficult to read with grammar issues. Clair's friend Jenny, who was in the book for the majority of chapters, suddenly was gone. No explanation of how her life was and what she was doing. Confused.
