Tldr; at its heart, this novel is a comedy harem. For the most part at the beginning, it was a lighthearted novel about a playboy who just wanted to lay with women, but later gets more dramatic.

Regarding the characters, they start out as cardboard cutout 2d characters but end up with much more depth. The main character is a Gary sue at heart. 99% of his fights are one-sided. Some parts appear to be misleading or retconned regarding the characters. Example:

Spoiler

Rou Rou, gets worried that if she tells the main character who harassed and hurt her at work, he'll get fired from his job. It's later revealed she knew from the beginning he was the son of the chairman, effectively unfirable. The author probably wanted to add more to the character, and ended up retconning parts of her.

its just his way of adding drama.

Story isn't bad, but he recycles plots frequently. So, get this straight: the MC here, Qin fen, is taking a celebrity out for a date. He gets a call saying his friend was hurt at the hospital, he leaves his date behind, she gets kidnapped. He investigates and finds out a doctor attempted to r*pe her, he beats him up, finds out his date went missing, finds her about to be r*ped, protects her using a talisman, the next day his former lover is abducted by a corrupt casino, which is saved by the hotcop babe, who ends up later getting kidnapped by corrupt cops working with her to the casino, by coincidence the MC sees them attempting to kidnap his former lovers brother, who tells him what happened, so the MC tears the ass off of everyone at the casino, rescuing people there. On his way home he finds out a girl has been drugged and some guys at his workplace are planning to r*pe her. It's literally the same plot over and over. It feels like torture.

it should be noted I feel like the author has excess patriotism to China. He talks about various Chinese virtues and morals. He mocks western medicine and LOVES Chinese medicines. He made the western Doctor portrayed as a braindead hemmoroid addled gesticulating ret*rd, while the main characters Chinese approach to medicines conquers "the silly and temporary trend of western medicine"

really not bad, but silly and pointlessly dramatic in some areas while childish and immature in others. Author displays a small inferiority complex about the cultural war between east and west.
