I never expected a novel that describes depression, self harm, su*cide and the healing process to catch my attention.

I didn't expect much, but man was I hooked.

nearing the last maybe 30% (?) I was bawling my eyes out. I had a stack of used tissue paper. I've never cried so hard before.

I didn't like the ML at first but once you start reading, you can't hate him.

their circumstance was the product of the system/world's interference.

when you continue to read, you can see how much the ML cares for the MC. It's really sweet.

I truly never expected to enjoy this as much as I did and I finished it quite quickly. I really enjoyed seeing the MC's change, growth and healing process.
