What is a good novel, this is a question I ask myself repeatedly when I write and when I read. Some say it's the story and the plot, and other people say the ending and the characters. The Great Mage Returns After 4000 years is the same old overpowered main character who reincarnates into a body of someone who was useless. How many stories have I stumbled upon that have the same themes? Nonetheless, maybe the characters make up for it? Oh wait, the main character is emotionless, unable to produce any feelings other than "Annoying." or "I can get stronger." And don't get me started on the side characters who either have two purposes of making the main character look good, or make themselves look like a**holes.Let me ask you this, what does this novel intend to do. Have some fun? Show off a character who builds up their strength and show off? Oh, wait, he's already a seventh circle mage by the 54th chapter, what about the weak to strong improvement? What happened to the showing off? This novel is useless even in the parts where it's supposed to excel in. It's not fun, it's not interesting, and it sure as hell was made for money. All you will get from this novel is a false feeling of satisfaction that will instantly disappear once you realize you wasted your time with this garbage.TLDR: I do not recommend this novel at all, go read something better, and save your time.Note: Also, don't any of you guys say his inhuman emotions are because he was stuck alone for ten thousand years, it's just a s*upid plot point the author made so that you guys shut up and won't criticize his shitty work, trust me, I have done the same before and regret it immensely.
