(This review is for my own reference only. This is just what I felt while reading; no judgment on the book intended.)

I didn't feel any tension or anticipation at all, either in terms of the romance or the plot. ML immediately held MC's hand through everything. He let MC figure out problems, but it was like a parent watching over a child. Not romantic to me. It seemed like everything was going to be fine for the MC no matter what, so in the end, I didn't feel interested in reading more.

I also didn't like the way the blindness was handled. MC started out blind for a few chapters, but when he gained vision, he didn't even show a sense of wonder or novelty. Nothing about sight seemed new or confusing or exciting to him. He didn't have to adjust. He just acted like he had always been able to see.

I kept reading just to see if ML would eventually show a darker side or maybe there would be a twist... But now that I've looked at the reviews, it seems like that doesn't happen.

I think this novel would be best for people who want to see a bit of horror and gore, but don't want to feel worried or scared for the protagonist at all.
