I'm giving this a five for novelty.

It's a standard setup, our protagonist transmigrated into a book he read's mob villain character in an academy setting except for once his life actually sucks and he is treated like a villain.

He's disowned by his family, doesn't have any money or useful items, he has an awful reputation that for once actually feels like it affects him, he doesn't have a system, and he's a fish out of water that doesn't remember his past or know much about the day-to-day details of the setting.

His character is supposed to be a magical genius but since he transmigrated into his body he fails to grasp something fundamental about magic and can't view or manipulate it even when he goes out of his way to be tutored in the most basic of basics. His only bonus so far (apart from knowing the narrative) is that he was able to memorize some textbook information on magic with dedicated study relatively quickly but he can't apply it practically. This naturally makes his life difficult in the generic fantasy academy.

Socially he's an outcast. He doesn't have any friends or subordinates. When he manages to be helpful in an exam and do well his fellow students mostly still view it as him messing with them. They aren't very grateful as a result. People react to him with either terror of being victimized by an notorious unstable bully or with contempt. Random non-students who know of him by reputation treat him poorly. Sometimes misleading him or serving him in a realistic disgruntled employee way; technically doing their job well enough to not get fired but not being actively helpful.

If like me it sounds interesting to read a mob villain transmigration where it is actually a difficult set of circumstances to be thrown into instead of a minor setback or excuse to feel like an antihero, give it a read. I find it a breath of fresh air and I'm curious to see how it develops.

I was wary when I saw the translation was by Fenrir as in the past they've put our some shoddy stuff but happily this specific translation seems above average with not much to complain about.
