I finished reading this novel in, I think 7 days? It's enjoyable despite all the flaws. The main characters interaction is fine, romance is good, sometime cheesy sometime plain sweet, but I mean, that's love, innit? There's no love rivalry or that kinda crap.Female lead often felt pathetic, but I can sympathise with her. She's wise, but sometimes dumb. She's also sympathetic and kind-hearted. She's a bit arrogant and sometime annoying, but it's within her "Gemma" character design (I mean, the game character) Male lead often felt pathetic, too, unfortunately I couldn't sympathise with him. Like, he often blamed himself for something he's not guilty of, and he's quite harsh towards other, probably because he is also hard towards himself. He hates criminal as much as he hates himself, but he doesn't hate criminals who can be reformed. He is quite cold-blooded at times, but ultimately good. He can readily kill armed criminals without remorse, though, he would never hurt non-violent criminals (he didn't even punched or retaliate against Gemma when he got kicked by her). He's also righteous, not self-righteous, and would often put himself in danger in pursuit of justice. The conflict, tho, isn't very good. I half-expected this to have a mystery genre or police drama sprinkled in, but there's neither mystery nor police drama. It's a damn shame....Light spoiler about ending:Spoiler
The ending arc and the ending itself isn't very satisfying, but I can't complain much. I just hoped for the world to be another world, but in the end, it's really just a game....
MC decided to live within the game, which is fine. However, I hoped for, at least, an explanation about what really happened.
Unfortunately, here's zero explanation of what happens to her in real life. Like, real zero explanation. Even how she got her consciousness inside the game wasn't explained properly. What if she died IRL, what if she died in game, what if...? There's a lot of what ifs.
All in all, it's not a very good ending. Happy ending, yeah, but a sloppy one.
