One of the rare Korean novels with a female protagonist that I enjoy. Because, unlike other novels, Rosaline is actually really strong and doesn't need an ML to depend on. I mean Rosaline is the one doing the protecting, not the ML which makes for a very fun dynamic. In many books, the female main character is portrayed as someone capable, yet she ultimately becomes a damsel in distress. I have nothing against those characters, but it gets soooo repetitive that I immediately drop the story when that happens (unless I'm just in it for the romance).

Whether it be the past or the shadow-possessed Rosaline, both of them have their own strengths that shine through. It doesn’t focus on how other characters helped them but rather on their character development. Rosaline is such an endearing character, that even if you remove the ML, she could carry the story on her own (I do love Ricardis tho, their relationship is very cutesy).

It is a novel that truly reflects its genres. Definitely recommend! 5/5
