I am not the greatest fan of systems and using them to massively simplify power progression and world building. But here it works. Because:Positive feedback loop: The system is strong and the cause of major progression but the benefits gained directly from the system are tiny compared to the feedback from using the system to help others (pets, plants, family...) to progress. Growing together is just more engaging.Milestones: Attributes will grow, stats will rise but really only certain milestones are important and that is what matters most and as such is the focus of the story.Limits: The system is set in such a way that growth is limited if one stays on the same path or interacts only with the system. It seemingly doesn't matter in which direction, but branching out is key to progression. Never once did I get the feeling that staying put and just working hard at something would be much better risk reward.Soft-Power: Until now all growth is in a direction that either supports pets or others. While there are a few defensive buffs, not one so far is usefull for aggression. This way the pets stay important and aren't supplanted by the MC or system.5 stars because I want others to read and learn how systems can be OP but still not detract from the story.
