Edit: ended up MTLing to the end, leaving my initial review below and my MTL review in a spoiler since my opinion changed quite a bit. PreMTL 5 stars, postMTL 4 stars. One of the funniest transmigration novels I've read. The characters are all great, not just MC and ML (although I do think MC is the best). Side characters start out seeming like archetypes but the author fills them out into real characters as time passes. MC is my favorite kind, the type who's completely shameless, hard working, but still a lil dumb/dense. It's awe inspiring seeing his dedication to his grades, and his trolling/bullying skills are A++ (author is absolutely hilarious and I laugh every time MC is trolling). The plot is usually pretty fluffy and funny. There's a vein of angst running through the story, but it's well balanced and well-placed so it doesn't feel like needless whump material. You'll be stuck between rage at the scum characters, and tears of laughter at MC's antics.I'm only at c72 now since I'm reading the TL, but I'm really eager to read to the end. The pacing of the chapters keeps me wanting more.MTLed review:Spoiler
The plot started to get more convoluted and boring around the time when the system shows up again. The twist was decently built up but the actual delivery was lacking, and the final encounter was disappointing. Also, I just realized, but the ML really stays boring and uninteresting until the end, I never really get attached to him.
[collapse]The ending really killed my enthusiasm so I don't really want to leave a review, but maybe after the TL is done I'll come back, reread, and post a more complete review.
