This one comes as a surprise. I didn't have any expectation when I picked it up. I read the manga first before reading the novel. The beginning is boring and I almost dropped it. But I kept reading it and got interested with the protagonist's characters. It made me want to leave a review for this series.MC has ambition, emotion, and consideration. It's rare for a Japanese isekai character who is not beta or dull. Better yet, he knows he is OP and he's not humble about it. The other characters are pretty well made as they are not there to be simply forgotten.As for the drawbacks... The fights are anticlimactic, lacking in excitement. The author has potential, but he/she doesn't seem to be honestly interested in writing a game fantasy story. Leveling, skills acquisition, boss battle are treated like embellishments. Instead, up to the currently released chapters, it leans toward schemes, politics, and wars which is... more interesting. It's not bad, just unexpected progression.I've read worse ones, this is actually pretty decent. Plus, the translation is nice. Hence, the 4 stars.
