This novel will therefore mostly be a comparison and why I think this novel is way better. Minor spoilers for this and villainess ahead:Setting: I definitely prefer this novel’s setting over villainess’s any day of the week. I’m quite fond of the dystopian ish apocalypse since it reminds be of The Legendary Mechanic. Especially when compared to Villainess’ generic academy.The world building doesn’t seem as good but since we’re only a few chapters in it’s too early to judge.Characters: Now this is where this novel really excels compared to villainess imo. This novel’s main heroine actually FEELS evil. As opposed to villainess’ where, while stated to and sometimes doing evil deeds, she’s not super malicious and never bears all that much ill will against the MC. We actually SEE why the main heroine treats MC differently from others and their relationship develop, as opposed to villainess where they’re basically full-blown lovers 50 chapters in.The FL is also heavily weakened near the novel’s start so she doesn’t kill the MC, nor can she magically solve every problem barring world ending catastrophes like in Villainess.This also gives MC a chance to shine and show her competence, as opposed to the bumbling fool that is Villainess’ MC who exists solely to get into trouble so the FL can rescue and pamper her.I genuinely hope that this novel’s heroine isn’t just tossed aside and actually gets stronger alongside the FL. Ofc I don’t expect her to be nearly as strong as the FL but just enough as to where she isn’t a damsel in distress all the time.TLDR: A must read for Yuri fans and a pretty decent read if you’re just bored and have already read all the typical ‘good’ novels.
