Rather than gender bender most of the novel is more like yuri setting. Nonetheless, it’s an interesting story to read with a spin on after-apocalypse I have seen being explored elsewhere. There are mutants but no human zombie. The romance is a bit skewed and have developed into a mary Sue situation.
