Dropped. The novel is not bad for killing time but it is way too long to be worth completing

This a typical little wife x CEO where the author is trying to pull off some unique twists. Sadly, the annoying tropes common in lengthy chinese novels made it into an increasingly frustrating read.

It starts as a second chance novel. Girl is reborn to the night she fell into her stepmother and stepsister's trap, she was drugged and conceived a child with a stranger. The twist is that she has memories of her time as a ghost after she died in the previous life, so she wants to protect her family, her unborn child and the child's father who avenged her in the previous life. Turns out she has to hunt ghosts, absorb evil energies and send them to the underworld to extend her lifespan. By the way, the ML turns out to be the sickly, short-lived heir (and current head) of the most powerful family.

Most ghost's background stories and hauntings were interesting enough. Sadly, the leads are so exaggeratedly perfect that it's boring. Too much Mary Sue, Gary Sue, face-slapping and plot armour for my liking. Typical strong women template that doesn't have a spine when it comes to the ML because he's too good looking.

ML has always been weak, predicted to die young, coughing blood now and then, yet he's also the top 1 talent in every single thing you can think of: Car racing, martial arts, business, politics, etc

Romance and character development are weird. ML treats MC as a daughter because she's 9 years younger than him. Too many descriptions about MC's charming, cold appeal and ML's elegant, dominant aura. The characters are not consistent and communication between the leads is close to non-existent.
